Dr Who

I know its not actually a film but it is genius, and this series is over and I am very sad, particularly because its not on again till 2010, but on the plus side I am going to see David Tennant in Hamlet! Woo!

This series was brilliant, barring a couple of episodes. I think it definatly had some of my favourite Dr Who episodes in it, but I am still gonna go with series 2 being my favourite.

Temporary pause on my return!

So i fainted on thursday and bashed my head. Thursday was the day i was gonna go to the cinema so im a little gutted as i now wont go for a while due to dissertation stress etc! Oh well! Anyway, just in case anyone reads this i thought i would let you know the reason for my temporary absence!

Howdy Folks!

Hallo, its been a while since i wrote on this site, mainly cos i got bored of it. But i have decided to get back to it again, at least untill i get bored again. I have been to see a lot of films since i stopped and i am not going to back track over them all cos i really cant be bothered, so……

Random

It has been a very long time since i wrote on here! I havnt really done that much, i have been home for Easter which was very nice, seeing the family and all. Didnt really do any work though, which is not so nice because i now have a bit of a mad rush, which really isnt happening, so in a few days there is going to be a major rush!

Before the holidays, we went to Go Ape! in the lake district, which is a place where you swing from trees and walk along rope bridges, basically it is an obsticle type course in trees. I was really scared, because i dont like harnesses or hights, and it was raining, but it turns i was born to swing from trees! Obviously not literally or i would have been born a monkey, but what i am getting at is that i was very good, compared to what i was expecting anyway and it was wicked fun!

Inside Man

We saw this the other day, i really enjoyed it but it doesnt really seem to have much of a story as such. It is about the perfect bank robbery. I guess what i mean by not much of a story is that the characters are not really very much developed so it is all about the robbery. Which is very clever! I think it is worth seeing, an did really enjoy it. 3 popcorns - and it has clive owen in it, who i reckon should have been the next bond. I like him.

I got a 60 in my greek, which i was pleased with so i am happy! I did a presentation today, about images of Buddha, i found it boring and i only wrote it today. Not sure it really went very well, but never mind! I should be tidying up right now, but i really cant be bothered. Hence the blog!

Greek! GRRRRR

This has been a very interesting week. I finally feel that i have made a breakthrough in my greek and maybe i can actually do some of it! which is very exciting. I have my exam tomo at 9am and am not feeling too bad. I am exhausted, not very well but i think i actually no some vocab! Anyway this is really a nonsense blog cos i cant be bothered to go back to greek! i have been doing it everyday all day since saturday, and by that i mean 9.00 till 6.00 at the earliest. Its a bit tiring on the mind. But all over tomo so im in a remarkably good mood.

Kidulthood and V for Vendetta

These were both fantastic films. I saw Kidulthood on Wednesday, we were going to see date movie, but thankfully we were warned off! Which was a relief. Anyway, this is a very moving story and i think is probably one of the most real i have seen in a long while. It is about a group of Kids who get a day off school after one of their classmates commits suicide. The acting is superb. There is not huge story to it, it is more like a day in the life of but definatly worth seeing. I will give it four popcorns.

V for Vendetta, we saw this last night and it was awsome. I didnt want to see it originally but recently the trailors have looked really good. It was wicked. Set in a futuristic London under a tyrannical government when a guy named V, wearing a guy fawkes mask who basically is a terrorist fighting the government. There are some really cool fight scenes and the script is fabulous! So i would say 4 for this too!

Both worth seeing - V for a fun evening, Kidulthood just because it is brilliant. As for an update on me - i am about to go over to Sarahs to do a day of Greek revision in preperation for me exam on Wednesday, as i did yesterday and the day before. It gets really rather boring, but seeing as i dont want to fail its kind of necessary!

Essays, GRRR!

I have been very busy since my film fast ended, but do not fear i have still watched PLENTY of films and tv. Its good fun but i think i really need to cut back. I finished one of my two 2500 word essays due in this week yesterday, so i feel good. I hate the way that they always pile on all the work at the same time. As soon as these essays are done i have a greek exam and then after that a presentation - on images of Buddha. I dont really no why seeing as i am doing biblical studies and there is certainly no Buddha in the bible. But never mind!

I watched Lucky Number Slevin the other week and it was wicked. Little bit jumpy at the beginning, but then i jump at Harry Potter, so i wouldnt take that too seriiously! I had some cool twists and the acting was great. So i was impressed! I think i will give it 4 popcorns.

End of Fast here at last!

Ok so last night i finished my film fast! It was great except i didnt really want to go to the cinema, or really do anything other than go home, so me and Paul came back to mine and watched CSI which was very nice and relaxing! I am now supposed to be doing greek but im not but at least i am not watching TV instead. I bought a couple of DVD’s the other day which are coming in the post this week so when they come i am going to be in big trouble cos i have two essays to write this week but never mind.

This fast has done so much for me and i have found that without such an easy distraction as TV i have met with God more and more and realised so much more about his overwhelming love. It has been exciting although stressful at times and i really dont think i will do it again but it was an incredible experience.

Finally i wondered if anyone has seen Lucky Number Slevin? cos it has had quite poor reveiws but i quite want to see it and wondered what anyone thought of it!

Word Bingo!

Today before my core course lecture i went for tea and cakes with some folk of my course and we decided to play word bingo in the lecture. I have never done this before but it certainly made the lecture more interesting! We each had a grid of 16 words that our lecturer might say in the lecture based on words he often says and the lecture title, then the first person to get 4 in a row went bingo. Rachel did go bingo but she didnt say it! very dissapointing, i think it would have been very funny if she had stood up and gone bingo - our lecturer would have been well confused but she would probably followed it up with ’sorry’! he he. It was great fun, although i didnt really write any notes cos i was concentrating too hard on hearing the words i was listening for, so not a game for an important lecture!
