Twilight

This is a funny one. I dont hugely like Robert Pattinson and certainly dont understand why the world thinks he is so sexy, I dont think he is a great actor and seeing as he is one of the leads that is a bit of a problem. However, I came out really very satisfied. If you have read the books, you should enjoy this as it is very loyal to the story. I think Edward is more tortured than arrogant, there should be a balance. The way it is filmed is great. The baseball match and the fight at the end are certainly the best bits. Basically once the baddies start really being around it gets much better. However it wasnt lacking before. The casting is great and somehow this feels just right.

Transporter 3

If you like Jason Statham or the other Transporter films you will love this. If you dont like either of these you probably wont. It is the same film essentially as the other two with a few plot variations. Some wicked fight scenes and a confirmation that Jason Statham is Hard! All in all thoroughly entertaining, mindless fun.

Inkheart

I really enjoyed this. It is funny, gentle family entertainment. I would say definatly worth watching. It has an impressive cast. Only major problem with it is that I have realised, I really dont like Andy Serkiss. He is annoying and really not that good an actor. He was great as Gollum but I think that he should stick to voice and movement rather than actually trying to play someone. Other than that, Helen Mirren was hysterical in places and the whole thing was really rather jolly good!

The Day the Earth Stood Still

This has not had the best reviews. However, I enjoyed it. I think if it wasnt for Helen chuckling in all the wrong places next to me I might have focused better, I was focused enough though to notice a few things. First; America apparently has the right to speak on the behalf of the world to the aliens, second; Keanu Reeves still cant act but is still really very very entertaining to watch, particularly when doing something action based, third; Will Smith has produced a very talented kid. Worth seeing, not incredible.

Body of Lies

I saw this right after four christmases so it was a relief that it was good! I really enjoyed it and have decided Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the most under appreciated actors around. It wasnt absolutly top standard but it was good enough to entertain and provoke a little thought. Mostly as to the arrogance of America in its assumption that it has the right to rule anywhere it likes. Anyway, I think it is well worth seeing, action packed and relevant to a point.

Four Christmases

I used to really like Vince Vaughn, like I used to like Ben Stiller. However, like Ben Stiller Vaughn has got old and boring. He is always the same, arguing for comedy, shouting over sense, being the arrogant idiot. I wish he would just try acting cos he could be really very very funny. Unfortunatly, as much as Reece Witherspoon was cute and funny in this it just was not very good. Too much the same as everything else.
