The Dark Knight

Actually a work of genius! I have been so excited about this for so long that I was beginning to try and dampen my excitement in order to not spoil my enjoyment, but I am pretty sure that nothing could have spoiled my enjoyment. Heath Ledger hype is deserved. He was amazing. Christian Bale was equally brilliant and a good match to Ledgers Joker. Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent was also fabulous. I dont really know how to describe it. If after I have seen it again I have better and more useful words than go see it I will write again!

Wall.E

This has had fabulous reviews all around, and i have to say they were deserved. Its an interesting film because there is very little talking, particularly at the beginning when there is none at all. It is a real feel good, happy story with, of course, a moral base. It has some very very funny bits, and generally something that was really very very good! Definatly worth seeing. Fabulous!

Journey to the Centre of the Earth

I loved this. Im not convinced that as a film it was truly fabulous, but it was great. In a large part because of the 3D which was just wicked! I like Brendan Fraser a lot, and this was very much in his style. It was funny, in places touching and a very good adventure. I took my sister and felt a little ashamed when i grabbed her arm at one point when she seemed fine, but it was great fun. Definatly worth watching. But make sure you go somewhere its in 3D cos the first cinema we went to didnt. And they didnt tell us so we got through most of the adverts before we realised. And it is so good in 3D!

Mamma Mia

This was funny, musical and well, funny! I really enjoyed it, im not convinced everyone would, i think if you have a hatred of Abba or an intense dislike of musicals you are likely not to enjoy it so much. But despite the fact that Pierce Brosnan couldnt really sing very well and other people seemed a little croaky it was impossible not to laugh. It is a real feel good film, fabulous and bright and lovely! I came out happy, if a little grumpy due to the unsupervised children in the cinema making a racket and being a pain in the arse. GRR!

Dr Who

I know its not actually a film but it is genius, and this series is over and I am very sad, particularly because its not on again till 2010, but on the plus side I am going to see David Tennant in Hamlet! Woo!

This series was brilliant, barring a couple of episodes. I think it definatly had some of my favourite Dr Who episodes in it, but I am still gonna go with series 2 being my favourite.

Kung Fu Panda

This film was flippin genius! Very funny, good moral story, just silly humour Jack Black stylee. I laughed a lot. Its also not too long. One big problem with it though is that it is a kids film, so if you see it in the cinema there is likely to be children making an irritating noise. Very difficult. Had that too with Narnia, i was getting very angry. Maybe thats wrong, but they were very annoying. Anyway the film is great. Go see it, late at night.

Hancock

From the trailer I was expecting not much more than a very good Will Smith comedy, and although in places it was very funny it was not just a comedy. There was a twist that none of the trailers really gave away which was cool. Although it took me a while to figure out how much I liked it because it was so different to what I was expecting. There was much more emotion and a little more depth than I was expecting. It was actually quite sad under all the funny. But I have concluded that I thought it was brilliant, so…

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

I wasnt really sure what to expect from this. I was neither excited nor desperate not to see it, so I was quite happy when I saw it. I wasnt overly keen on the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and I wouldnt say this is a work of genius but it wasnt bad, it was entertaining and the opening scene was fantastic. Prince Caspian was great, Edmund was fantastic and Lucy too. I thought the kids were actually reasonably convincing in the battle scenes, which suprised me as they are kids facing adults. This is where Edmund really did well. Peter I thought was the weakest point, he wasnt dreadful, I just dont think he has enough power in his voice to convince me he is a great leader. Anyway, worth seeing if you like that kind of thing.

Wanted

This was fantastic. It was fast exciting, really quite violent and just plain cool! James McAvoy is actually suprisingly convincing as an action man and Angelina Jolie is irritatingly hot. There are funny bits and the stunts are incredible. Basically if your over 18 go see it otherwise it is naughty!
