Hellboy 2:The Golden Army

I forgot I hadnt reviewed this and it was a few weeks ago. As far as I remember it was good! Very entertaining, beautiful and exciting. One complaint is that it would have been nice to have had a bit of a break from the action. It was too entertaining, in Sarah’s words. There were some very amuzing and funny bits and some great performances. Im not convinced that Hellboy is my kind of hero, or my favourite comic book character, some of it is a bit too fantastical. It was however very very good!

Get Smart

I have just been talking about this, it is fabulous 3 star entertainment. Gently amusing with some very funny bits. Nothing fancy or particularly memorable but worth seeing if your bored or a fan of Steve Carrell. It was relaxingly amusing.

Clone Wars

I really was not sure what to expect. This is by Lucas so should be good but the trailers really were not very convincing! I enjoyed it though. Cant say it is a work of genius but it is very funny in places and it fills in some gaps in story. It also seems to create a couple but Lucas has never seemed terribly bothered by plot holes. I reckon if your a star wars fan it is worth a watch.

You don’t mess with the Zohan

Shockingly bad. Boring. Rubbish. Not even remotely funny. I could go on but hopefully my meaning is understood.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer

I dont think anyone could have gone to see this expecting a masterpiece. The story was flawed and the dialogue was standard mummy talk. But to be honest it was so much fun I would see it again. Not in the cinema but ill buy it. Entirely stupid, idiotic, funny and punchy. Dont go if your expecting brilliance but go if you want a no thinking, idiotic, stupid and fun evening!

Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging

I was only half excited about seeing this, I wasnt sure if it would be really cringeworthy or just simply annoying. But I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was silly and felt very real thanks to great performances from the leads. If your not interested in the workings of a 14 year old girl I wouldnt bother with it, but I came out of the cinema feeling happy. A proper feel good film, I suspect for a limited audience.

The Dark Knight

Actually a work of genius! I have been so excited about this for so long that I was beginning to try and dampen my excitement in order to not spoil my enjoyment, but I am pretty sure that nothing could have spoiled my enjoyment. Heath Ledger hype is deserved. He was amazing. Christian Bale was equally brilliant and a good match to Ledgers Joker. Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent was also fabulous. I dont really know how to describe it. If after I have seen it again I have better and more useful words than go see it I will write again!

Wall.E

This has had fabulous reviews all around, and i have to say they were deserved. Its an interesting film because there is very little talking, particularly at the beginning when there is none at all. It is a real feel good, happy story with, of course, a moral base. It has some very very funny bits, and generally something that was really very very good! Definatly worth seeing. Fabulous!

Journey to the Centre of the Earth

I loved this. Im not convinced that as a film it was truly fabulous, but it was great. In a large part because of the 3D which was just wicked! I like Brendan Fraser a lot, and this was very much in his style. It was funny, in places touching and a very good adventure. I took my sister and felt a little ashamed when i grabbed her arm at one point when she seemed fine, but it was great fun. Definatly worth watching. But make sure you go somewhere its in 3D cos the first cinema we went to didnt. And they didnt tell us so we got through most of the adverts before we realised. And it is so good in 3D!

Mamma Mia

This was funny, musical and well, funny! I really enjoyed it, im not convinced everyone would, i think if you have a hatred of Abba or an intense dislike of musicals you are likely not to enjoy it so much. But despite the fact that Pierce Brosnan couldnt really sing very well and other people seemed a little croaky it was impossible not to laugh. It is a real feel good film, fabulous and bright and lovely! I came out happy, if a little grumpy due to the unsupervised children in the cinema making a racket and being a pain in the arse. GRR!
